PARTY TIME!!!!!!!
We had Hannah's birthday party today. It was a lot of fun, but very hot outside.
The kids are going to be exhausted by tomorrow night because they've had a busy weekend and they're still going strong. Nana and Pops came to visit this weekend, so the kids have been having fun with them...swimming, playing at the mall, all kinds of things! They all came to our house before the party so that we could get Hannah cleaned up and ready. I hadn't seen her or Kobe since yesterday morning, so of course they had to have hugs and kisses. I told Hannah that I needed to give her a special birthday kiss, so I did...right on the tip of her nose :) Those are always sweet kisses, so it fit perfectly for a special day!
At the party, we started out with the most yummy part----CAKE!!! The cake turned out so cute and it tasted really good. Bakery Boy (Kobe's name for the owner of the bakery) and Jan (Bakery Boy's wife) did such a great job. They are such nice people and the kids are always so excited to go see them.
Next, we opened presents. Hannah got way more than she needed as usual. The kids are so blessed! I hope they grow up to realize that.
Hannah was so funny when opening her presents. I put a bag of Goldfish crackers in her gift bag from us. When she opened it she said, "Aww, it's my fish tackuhs!" Then she hugged and kissed the bag. Too funny! (By the way, "tackuhs" are crackers. We're still practicing some sounds.) She also got very excited over getting money. She held up some money once and shouted, "Money...I'm gonna save this until I'm grown up." Hopefully she'll keep up the good saving habits. Other gifts she got were clothes, makeup mirror set, watering can/sprinkler, bike, purse...too many things to remember without looking back at the gifts.
After cake and presents, the kids went out to play golf and then came back in to play in the game room. There were seven kids and a good bit of adults there, so we had a nice crowd.
By the end of the party I was pretty tired myself, but not too tired to take a few more pictures and make some funny faces with Hannah! She wouldn't wear her party hat, so I was forced to do it for her :)
Before leaving Putt-Putt, Hannah had to make sure that everyone had a good bag. She helped make them, so she insisted that we all get one. She was a great helper!
As for other activities since the last post...
The kids and I cooked breakfast on Father's Day since Curtis had to work that afternoon. Kobe and Hannah had a lot of fun helping, and Kobe was so proud that he made the yogurt parfaits and chocolate milk all by himself. He was also really excited about the fact that he picked out the gifts himself.
Well, I guess that's about all I have for now. Until next time....

This past weekend was GREAT!!!!!! The time leading up to the weekend was pretty good, too.
The tadpoles in the swimming pool are turning into frogs, and they're so cute :)
The kids went to VBS last week. They really enjoyed it. I didn't teach this year, so I was able to get some things done around the house during those few hours each night. They had the program for family members Friday night and it was really cute! Kobe danced his heart out during the song his group did. I loved it! Hannah's group would just sing sometimes, and then they hit each other with hats and played with microphone stands the rest of the time....precious :) Kobe is the third from the left in the first picture below, and Hannah is on the right in the second picture, beside the little girl in yellow.
Saturday morning I left home bright and early for a solo adventure. I went to a Bed and Breakfast in Dahlonega. I LOVED IT, I LOVED IT, I LOVED IT!!!!!! (Can you tell just how much I enjoyed it?) The place was beautiful, the facial and massage there were great, yummy breakfast, fun shopping...just spent time doing all kinds of things that I love. I was so proud of myself for driving to new places on busy, busy roads. I conquered one of my fears......YIPEE!!! I was so excited :) I was also very excited about my new purse. I'm extremely cheap, so I've never allowed myself to purchase a Vera Bradley bag. Well, since the trip was all about me this time, I thought "why not?" and I got one. I started out looking at the clearance shelf, but a full-price purse said, "Hey, over here. You need to buy me. I'm worth it." You know what? The purse was right ;) Maybe I'll listen to accessories more often, LOL. I hated to see the weekend come to an end, and I'll definitely be scheduling another visit to the B&B.
This week has flown by. I guess because things have been so busy. I got Hannah's birthday party scheduled at Putt-Putt. She had a lot of fun there last year, so I'm sure she'll enjoy it again this year, even though she said she wanted a party where everybody folded clothes instead. How funny! I made her invitations and I think they turned out really cute. They're better in person, but the picture will give a good idea of how they turned out. Fun, fun, fun :)
Good night!

Wow---already a month since the last post!!! Where is time going? Well...lots to catch up on.
Hannah will be going to Pre-K this year, so we went to an orientation at the school. She got to go on a tour of the school, which ended on the Pre-K playground. I think that was her favorite part.
Mawmaw's birthday was the same day as the orientation, so we went to her house that evening for cake and ice cream. YUM!
Peyton's birthday party was in May also. The kids had a lot of fun playing outside with their cousins.
Hmmm---I think I'm about to fall asleep. I'll have to finish the post later. More to come...
Alright, next night. I think I'm a little more alert now, maybe.
I've had three tadpole rescue missions in the last month. Fun, fun! Our pool looks like a lake, and in order to get it clean, I've been having to remove the millions of tadpoles that took up residence in it. (Ok, so I didn't have to remove them, but I just can't stand the thought of killing all of them....they're already growing legs! It would just be wrong to kill them.) Their new home is the creek at my parents' house---they really like it there...they told me so. Ha,ha! Kevin got drafted to help some. He was such a great sport.
You can't have all work and no play, and the swing was yelling at me to stop by and visit, so guess what....I caved! It was fun though ;) My parents became big kids for a few minutes, too.
Kobe and Hannah have enjoyed playing outside at Grammy and Grandad's house also. Kobe likes to run into the tree while swinging, and Hannah has discovered the sand that they just put out for horseshoes. They won't have sand for long!!!
Kobe got out of school at the end of May. The second graders had a luau to celebrate the last day. I wasn't able to go, but Curtis and Hannah went and joined him. They had a lot of fun. Kobe always enjoys showing off his sister, and Hannah thinks she's all grown up when she gets to play with the big kids. It was a win, win situation for them both.
That weekend, the kids and I traveled to Albany to see Nana and Pops. We had such a great time! Curtis had to work, so he wasn't able to go. It was the first time the kids and I traveled anywhere by ourselves, so it was an adventure. We did fine though. I can't believe I had always been too scared to make the drive....it was so easy.
We started out our trip by going out on a boat. That was a lot of fun! The kids enjoyed getting to play in the water, too. Curtis got a boat recently, so hopefully they'll get to enjoy more time out on the water this summer.
During the course of the weekend, the kids also got to play in the hot tub and they went to Chuck E. Cheese's.
On a completely different subject...Kobe really enjoys drawing and doing other art-related things. A few days ago he decided to draw on tape with a Sharpie and the put it on his face to make a mustache. How funny!
I think that pretty much covers everything up until this weekend. We got the kids signed up for the summer reading program at the library and went to pick strawberries on Saturday. Strawberry picking was tough this weekend---very, very hard to find them! I didn't get any new pictures, but we did take some a couple of weeks ago.
On Sunday we went to church. I love our Sunday School class...look forward to it every week. I had nursery after Sunday School. It was just Hannah and two others in there. They played so well together.
After church, we went home and the kids took a nap. I was lazy for a little while, too. We went to a picnic at the park with my friends from high school Sunday afternoon. It was all of the girls and their families...so much fun! The swings were great also :) Hannah loved getting to swing in my lap, and of course, Kobe had to have a turn also. He's just a little too big for that I think....very painful for me!!!
Well, I think I'm all caught up now. It was back to work today. The kids started VBS tonight, so the week should be pretty fun for them. Curtis has the new boat to play with, so he's really happy. I'll be going on a trip all by myself this weekend, so I have something fun to look forward to also...shopping, facial, massage, spa tub at a B&B----I may never come home!!!! Just kidding ;)
Good night!
