I'm back.....YAY!!!!!!! Lots of catching up to do.
There have already been two holidays since I last posted anything. Thanksgiving, Christmas, and now we're about to head into the New Year. I can't wait to see what all 2011 has in store!
The weekend before Thanksgiving was a lot of fun for us. Hannah went to see her husband, Jason, in concert. She got to stay in a hotel, eat at restaurants, do some shopping, and see the concert (Well, parts of it anyway. She slept through at least half of it). She thought she was such a big girl! Sooooo cute in her cowgirl outfit :)
When we got home from the concert, we got a new dog. Kevin found it and it needed a new home. The dog decided that he should come live with me, LOL! Tex is now part of our family and is such a sweetheart. He's still learning to behave, but most days he does pretty well, and he's become good friends with Sully and Max. I've taught him to sit and shake hands, so hopefully he's not a lost cause ;)
Thanksgiving was enjoyable this year. We didn't do too much...just went to Grandmama's house to eat, let the kids play outside, and then relaxed at home. It's hard to do too much after getting stuffed!
In the months of November and December we celebrated several birthdays. I don't have all of my pictures together from those, so I'll have to post some later on.
The kids and I put up Christmas decorations the weekend after Thanksgiving. They got bored quickly, so I ended up doing most of the work myself. Oh well....it was fun while it lasted! Max enjoyed the tree skirt pretty well. I couldn't keep it under the tree because he thought he was supposed to run and slide across the room on it. He was happy a few days ago when all of the presents were gone and the skirt didn't have anything holding it down---time to play again!
We had our Sunday School Christmas party at our house. It was so much fun to have everyone together! (I got to use my new cupcake holder for the Christmas cupcakes I made, so I was super excited about that too!!!!!) The kids all played well with each other and the adults had a lot of fun just talking and laughing. Can't wait to have them all over again :)
The morning after the party, Kobe went for his weekly games of bowling, and Hannah and Peyton went to eat breakfast with Santa at the mall. Hannah didn't want to have too much to do with Santa at all. They had breakfast, got goodies, and rode the carousel. Afterward, we let them play in the play area for a while. They really enjoyed themselves. Hannah even drove Jason around in the red car, haha!
We had a few snow flurries that Sunday. The kids were thrilled to see snow, even though it was just a tiny amount. Little did they know that Christmas would bring a lot more!
Hannah had a field trip to the mall to see Santa the during the last week of school before Christmas break. Curtis and I both got to go to this. It was a lot of fun getting to see all of the little ones enjoy themselves :) Kobe and Hannah were supposed to be in the school Christmas program the next day, but they both ended up sick.....flu!!!!!!!! Oh no! Kobe made it back to school on Friday, so he got to enjoy his Christmas party, but Hannah missed hers.
My poor little sick, red-faced babies...
Early in December, I went with my dad to his family Christmas gathering. Then, closer to Christmas, we started celebrating by going to Albany to see Nana and Pops, along with some cousins that we've never met (well, Curtis had met his cousin but just hadn't seen him in a long, long time). It was really great having that time with everyone. Kobe always gets so excited over new cousins, so you can imagine how happy he was to meet five new people in the family!
(time for bed....more to come later!)
Alright, it's later now :) We'll see how well I do. I seem to be pretty tired again, so this blog adventure may take me several days.
So...Christmas. We came home from Albany on Christmas Eve and went to my parents' house to eat and exchange gifts with them and Kevin. Then we went home to open a couple of gifts from each other. Hannah had to open her gift for Jason first. She got him a Mickey Mouse coloring book so that they can color together!
On Christmas morning we woke up to see what Santa had brought, and then it was off to my parents' house again for the larger family gathering. It snowed on Christmas (very pretty!). The kids really loved getting to see it and play out in it. Around lunchtime, we went to visit Poppa and Mawmaw, along with some other family, at their house.
That was about it for Christmas. As far as other random things during the last couple of months....Grammy had foot surgery this month, so Kobe went to her house and helped her with some things. Before the surgery, he kept asking, "when do I get to go keep Grammy?". Too funny! Hannah got a piece of Nerds candy stuck up her nose a few days ago. I got a new camera, so I've been taking pictures like crazy (fun, fun, fun!). Lots of other things to tell, I'm sure, but I think it's close to bedtime, LOL. Bye!
Random pictures that I like...
